Katie Spieler, a Libero for the indoor Santa Barbara Volleyball Club, upon graduation headed to the University of Hawaii for the Beach Volleyball. In her 4 years there she has created many memories and highlights, in including ending her senior season as an AVCA All American!

Katie also had the distinction of being named an AVCA All American as only a sophomore. Graduating Summa Cum Laude with a 4.00 GPA and her undergraduate degree in Accounting in only 3 years, Katie returned to play her senior season while pursuing a post-graduate degree at the Shidler College of Business.

In 2016, her final season as a Rainbow, (and the first year of Beach Volleyball becoming an NCAA sport) Katie was named Big West All Conference Team - Best Pair, and the Hawaii Rainbows won the Big West Conference Championship. The team advanced to the first ever National Championship Tournament where Katie received the NCAA top 90 award - an award given at each NCAA sport's National Championship to the student athlete with the highest cumulative GPA. Katie, as she did as an undergrad, currently holds a 4.00 GPA. The Rainbows finished 4th at the Inaugural NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship. Katie also received the Jack Bonham Award, given to the top male/female University of Hawaii athlete each year that "best exemplifies the ideas of athletic excellence, academic achievement, public service, leadership and character".

Upon graduation, Katie plans to visit family at home, and then pack her bags and head to train in Sweden! She plans to train and play in several Professional European Beach Volleyball Tours. We are so excited for everything Katie has accomplished and for her exciting new journeys ahead! Congratulations Katie!
